When the architect of Mauro Sanna’s latest
restaurant were looking for lights, nothing ordinary would
do. With the focus on fish for Olivomare’s menu,
the challenge was to find something that was suitably piscine that would work with the restaurant’s clean and modern looks. Interior designer Pierluigi
Piu, the Italy-based architect remembered seeing Innermost’s Bigoli and approached the company to commission a special version to run the whole length of the dining area.
The overall look of the place is far from the usual corny picture of a seafood restaurant and it has received rave reviews for both its Sardinian food and its good looks from Elle
Decoration and others, as well as A
A Gill. Sleek and airy in feel, Olivomare is refreshingly free of driftwood and any of the usual clichéd maritime malarkey that often decorates fish restaurants.
Complements for the beautiful interior have also been received
by Pierluigi Piu from the Russian International Architect Awards
2007, when he received the award for ‘Innovation
in public spaces’ for his design at Olivomare and Olivinos.
Opening in November 2007, Topaz is one of the few high-end restaurants in Istanbul with breathtaking views from Gumussuyu over Bosphorus and Dolmabahce Palace.
When Koray Ozgen initiated the design for the corporate identity he applied his distinctive style, using visual aspects of stone facets to establish an impressive and striking interior.
The strong lines of the geometrical abstract shapes divide and form an awe-inspiring inner space which links interior and exterior by framing the spectacular view of crystal clearwater and jaggard landscapes.
Koray Ozgen contacted Innermost as he wanted to include suspended clusters of the Asteroid (designed by Koray Ozgen for Innermost on 2005) in the bar area, after seeing the impressive display at 100% Design 2007.
